Sample CSV Files for Import Testing
CSV ·.csv
Free downloads · No account required · File sizes and checksums listed
Download free CSV test fixtures for parsers, imports, ETL jobs, and upload size limits. Files are synthetic comma-separated data with known byte sizes — built for QA, not as a one-off spreadsheet export.
Use them when you need a repeatable CSV download for spreadsheet tools, BI imports, or API bulk upload tests. Checksums and MIME are listed for every published size.

What's in these CSV samples
Checked on the published files: UTF-8 text with no BOM, comma delimiter, and header
product_id,name,category,price,quantity,country,description.
The 10 KB file has 98 data rows after the header; the 1 MB file has 10,116 data rows. Quoted fields may contain commas and dashes.

What you can test with these CSV samples
These fixtures are built for import testing: UTF-8 text, no BOM, comma delimiter, and a stable header (product_id,name,category,price,quantity,country,description). Quoted fields may contain commas, which is useful for parser edge cases without shipping intentionally broken CSV.
Use the 10 KB file (98 data rows) for fast unit tests and the 1 MB CSV (10,116 data rows) for bulk import, progress indicators, and memory checks. Always assert Actual size and SHA-256 when a pipeline must pin an exact object.
They are not schema-validation failure cases or BOM/encoding ladders. If your product must reject bad CSV, keep a separate negative fixture outside this ladder.
Limitations
These files are valid size-oriented CSV samples. They are not intentionally broken CSV, BOM/encoding ladders, or schema-validation failure cases unless a separate fixture is published for that purpose.
What Is a CSV Example File?
A CSV example file on this site is a size-targeted text fixture using comma-separated values. It helps you test how systems ingest tabular data without crafting large files manually.
Published files already use a defined header schema (product_id,name,category,price,quantity,country,description, UTF-8, no BOM). BOM/encoding ladders and intentionally broken CSV for negative tests are not published yet. Use Actual size and SHA-256 when you need a stable input.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I download a sample CSV for testing?
From the size list on this page (CI table has bytes, SHA-256, and MIME). Each size is a verified CDN object.
Are these CSV files free?
Yes. No signup is required for published CSV fixtures.
Do the files include a defined column schema?
Yes. Published files use the header product_id, name, category, price, quantity, country, description (UTF-8, no BOM, comma-separated). Row counts grow with file size; see What’s in these CSV samples above.
How do I verify the download?
Match the SHA-256 in the table to your local hash of the file.
What MIME type is returned?
text/csv for published variants listed here.
